in-Cosmetics opens its doors in Hamburg, Germany!
One of the biggest events in the cosmetic industry calendar opens for business in Hamburg today, with a packed programme that will spotlight Brazil, together with conferences, workshops, new features and lots going on at the Cosmetics Design booth.

This exciting show changes its venue every year, and this year organiser Reed Exhibitions has chosen to return to Germany, where the event was last held in Munich, five years ago, back in 2009.

Germany is by far the largest single market for cosmetics and personal care in Europe, but it is also an important player, boasting some of the biggest specialty ingredients players, including BASF, Merck, and Evonik.

Hamburg is the home of Beiersdorf

But that reach also extends beyond the supply chain and into manufacturing of cosmetics, with a number of large multinational players including Henkel, Wella, and in particular Beiersdorf, which owns one of the world’s best recognized cosmetics brands, Nivea, and is also headquartered in Hamburg.

This year the event will host more than 600 exhibitors, whose booths will be lining the aisles of the city’s Messe exhibition centre, situated in the South of the city.

The Cosmetics Design team is also pulling out all the stoppers this year, and will be showcasing both its team and some highlights of the work we do on booth 3B40.

Come and see us at booth 3B40, and you may be in for a surprise!

Both visitors and exhibitors are more than welcome to come and visit the team at our stand, but it might be an especially good opportunity if you mark April 2nd, between 4pm and 5:30pm in your diaries.

During this time, not only will the whole team be available on the stand to meet you, answer questions and give you any information you may require, but we will also be serving a selection of snacks and drinks up to the accompaniment of a magician.

The magician will be on the booth performing some jaw-dropping tricks from 1pm, but from 4pm he will give a customized presentation, with some extra special twists and a prize draw.

Cosmetics Design journalists filming on the booth

During the first two days of the event you will also be able to see the Cosmetics Design editorial busy filming video interviews with a selection of the industry’s most prominent figures, who will be discussing what is trending at the show, as well as highlighting some of the most interesting new technologies.

Those interviews will include experts from market researchers Euromonitor, Mintel and Kline, together with key decision makers from the biggest industry players, including BASF, Beiersorf and Dow Chemical.

Watch out for those videos, which will be published in the Cosmetics Design newsletters during the weeks following the event closing its doors, on April 3rd.

And don't forget The Cosmetics Design Round Table...

The Cosmetics Design team is chairing a panel discussion as part of the in-cosmetics marketing track, titled Anti-Ageing Joins The Youth Club: Consumer-Targeted Cosmetics Get Younger And Younger.

This intriguing debate will kick off at 5pm on April 2nd and will be chaired by Cosmetics Design Deputy Editor Andrew McDougall and Senior Editor Simon Pitman, who will both be squaring firing at a group of four high profile industry players to find out their opinion about an evolving category that is turning heads.

Included in the discussion will be Imogen Matthews, founder of IM Associates, Alice Hart-Davis, creator of Good Things Skincare, Antoinette van den Berg, founder of Creative Touch and Daniel Fernandes de Oliviera, ABIHPEC.
