Headquartered in Bydgoszcz, the business is known as a major supplier of packaging to both global and regional consumer goods players in the cosmetics and personal care arena.
ASG has confirmed that all 320 of the existing staff at the Bydgoszcz facility will keep their positions, as the business is integrated into the company’s business portfolio.
Deal will expand ASG business portfolio
The deal represents a move that will see ASG expand its packaging capabilities beyond its focus on the home entertainments industry, helping to branch out its existing portfolio, while also leveraging certain synergies.
ASG wants to broaden its packaging capabilities by expanding further into the cosmetics and personal care area, as well as the spirits, confectionery and health care sectors, serving to diversify its business and ultimately to insulate it from market fluctuations in different segments.
Increasing technical and professional capabilities
“In bringing Bydgoszcz into our group, we increase our level of technical capability, experience, and knowledge of consumer markets,” said Tony Garnish, ASG’s Chief Executive – Europe.
“We look forward to cultivating new opportunities while continuing to deliver first-class solutions for our current clients.”
Hinting at future synergies between its existing business and the newly acquired MWV business, Mike Jackson, ASG’s chairman, said that the acquisition will serve to make the business more competitive, as well as serving to meet the demands of its customers.
“This acquisition is another excellent platform from which ASG can grow into new markets. We are excited to extend our presence in Europe and expand our global customer base in our primary business of print, packaging, and plastics,” said Jackson.
