Cosmoprof Worldwide announces launch of New York Symposium

The Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna team has announced its first event on the East Cost – The Cosmoprof New York Symposium, 2014, which will take place in Manhattan, from September 22nd to 23rd.

The event will be held at the Trump Soho Hotel, in Manhattan, New York City, between September 22nd​ – 23rd​, and primarily aims to connect cosmetic suppliers in that region with companies from all over Italy, as well as internationally.

“We felt the need to organize this Symposium because we strongly believe in the development of the U.S. market for the Italian and European manufacturers as well as for the suppliers of the most advanced solutions in technology and creativity that work for the biggest beauty companies worldwide, including American companies,”​ said Duccio Campagnoli, president of BolognaFiere.

Building on its presence in the US

Because the event organizers are already well established in North America, they see the decision to launch the symposium as one that will broaden its reach, and in particular focus its activities in the all-important Northeastern board.

The Cosmoprof Worldwide team made the announcement about the new event during the Cosmoprof North America event, which was held in Las Vegas, from July 13 – 15, and is a leading event for the professional, spa, packaging and contract manufacturing segments.

In targeting the North Eastern board, the organisers are dipping into the most important region for the cosmetics and personal care business in the U.S. – a region that is said to be the home of up to 70% of the nation’s players.

Hole in the events market provides opportunity

It is also stepping into a hole that has been left by the shrinking Health And Beauty America (HBA) event, which was, only a few years ago, the focal event for America’s cosmetics suppliers, but has subsequently been eroded by events such as Suppliers Day, Luxe Pack New York and MakeUp New York.

The New York Symposium will aim to introduce more than 40 international players to the main players in the New York area, targeting dedicated meetings and networking opportunities for both these businesses and the trade press.

The organizers are also partnering with Euromonitor International for the event, relying on the market research company to provide a keynote presentation about the US market and the key opportunities at present.

Cosmprof Worldwide will also be partnering with Italian industry association Cosmetica Italia, which will be bring its expertise and involving many of its members in the supply and specifically the sub-contracting segments.
