European suppliers turn to Beraca for representation at in-cosmetics Brazil
A host of Europe-based ingredient manufacturers have entered a strategic partnership with Beraca for the in-cosmetics Brazil event held in Sao Paulo, September 9-10, as they look to further penetrate the market where natural products are in demand.

Germany-based companies Henry Lamotte and Dr. Straetmans, France-based Greentech and Italy-based Indena will be exclusively represented by Beraca in Brazil per the partnership.

Last year, Brazil-based Beraca recorded 31% growth which it said is due in large part to the increase in business with its international partners like this one.

"We anticipate further growth for 2014, with the approval of new active ingredients and the increase in sales of products already distributed by Beraca in Brazil," says Juliana Frutuoso, account manager of Beraca's Health & Personal Care division.

Sustainability concern

And the company is confident of this as consumers are becoming increasingly more concerned about the impact of their actions on the environment and buying options.

Approximately 14 years ago, Beraca created the Sociobiodiversity Enhancement Program with consumer concern for sustainability in mind, aiming to guarantee the sustainable supply of natural raw materials to the global cosmetics industry by preserving the environment and fostering social inclusion.

“Beraca acts synergistically with its various stakeholders, bringing together local suppliers and global companies interested in offering products made by natural raw materials with proven efficacy and organic certification," says Ulisses Sabará, president of Beraca.

Partnership

It is this awareness of biodiversity concerns that has attracted various European suppliers to Beraca with this partnership.

Dr. Straetmans' lines Dermosoft and Dermofeel enables the replacement of preservatives banned from the market for safer alternatives, and are actually among the main responsible for Beraca's growth last year.

The argan oil manufactured by Henry Lamotte also recorded an increase of 80% in sales in the first quarter 2014, compared to the same period in 2013.

And since the beginning of its partnership with Beraca, in 2011, Indena has also doubled its presence in the Brazilian market.
