RPC invests in expanded US production facilities
The company has a significant footing in the North American beauty packaging market, where it is known for the development and manufacturing of Bottles, jars, flacons, dispensers and deosticks.
RPC estimates that the investment in the newly expanded facility will come in at $10 million dollars and will double the manufacturing surface area to around 120,000 square feet.
Moulding, thermoforming and assembly
The facility was established in 2005 and currently employs a staff of around 120 people who are mainly concerned with moulding and thermoforming of packs as well as assembly for the cosmetics, as well as food packaging markets.
As well as contributing to a significant rise in production volumes, the new facilities will also add in-mould labeling to the company’s technology portfolio – a technology that is growing increasingly important in the beauty packaging arena.
The expanded facilities, which were officially opened at the beginning of this month, form part of a continued move to broaden the company’s reach beyond the mainstay European market, and to increase its presence in all other global markets.
Plans to further develop US operations
The company also said in a statement that it has plans to further develop its other US businesses which currently include a manufacturing facility for M&H Plastics in Winchester, Virginia and a sales office for RPC Superfos in Cumberland, Maryland.
“A key focus of our Vision 2020 strategy is to achieve a meaningful presence outside Europe, and supporting and further developing our North American operations is an important part of this,” said RPC Chief Executive Pim Vervaat.
“Morgantown has played a crucial role in our success to date in this market and this additional capacity will further enhance the level of localised support that we can offer our customers in the region.”
