The company recently unveiled two packaging solutions that specifically target the personal care and cosmetics sector at the recent Pack Expo event in Chicago.
PresSure Lok is a new controlled dispensing packaging solution for liquid solutions such as shampoo and conditioners, as well as a range of other personal care products, while Fragrance-Zip is a zipper closure solution that emits aromas whenever the closure is opened.
Flexible packaging brings unique advantages
“The continued movement from rigid to flexible, the growing acceptance of liquid products marketed in flexible packaging, consumers’ increasing desire for more convenience, and of course the ongoing sustainability movement, is now driving many opportunities for resealable solutions in the cosmetics and personal care space,” a Zip-Pak spokesperson told Cosmetics Design.
The company believes that PresSure Lok embodies all of these packaging themes for the cosmetics and personal care industry, whereas interest in Fragrance-Zip has so far mainly come from the food sector, but could easily be extended to cosmetic and personal care products.
PresSure Lok
PresSure Lok has been designed as anall-in-one solution that combines a flexible pouch with a flexible and self-contained fitment, eliminating the need for a separate dispensing component.
The user squeezes the flexible pouch to open the seal, allowing a dose of liquid product to flow into the dispensing chamber. The package then automatically reseals itself for future use and is designed to lie on its side or upside down, without unintentional dispensing.
It is said to offer brand owners advantages that include a way of differentiating a product, while also using far less packaging material, ultimately savings costs and lowering the environmental impact.
Fragrance-Zip
Targeting the growing sensory trend, Fragrance-Zip is a zipper that can be embedded in the reclosureduring the manufacturing process.
The company says that by working in close partnership with several fragrance companies, it has been able to duplicate virtually any desired aroma, enabling a package to emit a desired scent whenever opened.
The significant advantage of this packaging is that it can be incorporated into the package itself to provide brand owners with a signature or branded scent.
