Makeup remover Albolene acquired by Clarion

The skin cleanser along with five other DSE Healthcare Solutions products were purchased by Clarion, a holding corporation newly formed by private equity firm Swander Pace Capital.

Albolene is marketed as a no-soap cleaner, comprised of mineral oil, petrolatum, paraffin, ceresin and beta-carotene, that also moisturizes the skin.

And, a 2009 article in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology reported on a study (funded by the product manufacturer) that found Albolene functions as effectively as a prescription alternative to reduce mild to moderate eczema.

Specialty market

New Jersey-based DSE Healthcare Solutions sells products like Albolene that target particular consumer needs and sells its goods in the US and Canada at drug and food retail stores.

Investment

Swander Pace Capital concentrates on niche, middle-market consumer products.  Financial terms regarding this latest acquisition were not released.
