Qosmedix new line of TSA compliant, travel-ready packaging

The New York based beauty packaging and implements supplier has added two container sets to its product portfolio.

All containers in both sets hold less than 3.4oz, so comply with the Transportation Security Administration’s rules for having liquids in carry on luggage.

In-flight regulations

The new containers have been designed as travel-ready packaging to meet the carry-on luggage requirements of the TSA: “Liquids, gels, aerosols, creams and pastes must be 3.4 ounces (100ml) or less per container; must be in 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. The bag limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring,” explains the Administration’s site.

These guidelines were established in response to a 2006 criminal plan, involving liquid explosives, to blow up airplanes in flight between the UK and the US.

Luggage sets

One of the Qosmedix sets comprises five containers: a lotion pump bottle, and two each spray bottles and flip-top bottles. The second set includes ten containers: a lotion pump, one each spray bottle and flip-top bottle, as well as two twist-cap bottles, two jars, a funnel, dropper and spatula.

“Both sets are packaged in a convenient reusable clear zipper bag with hang tag, making them ideal for retail sale,” states the company’s media release announcing the new sets. Qosmedix products are sold as both spa and salon supplies as well as for private label retailing.

Jars

Qosmedix has also recently added six jars to their product line. These jars come in two volumes: 3 gram and 5 gram sizes. Each is clear with a cap in one of three colors, white, black or clear, and features writeable labels. The company “recommends handwriting on these labels,” according to the website, but does offer logo printing and other custom options on orders of 30,000 pieces or more.

Container commerce

The company was founded in the mid-1980s and counts applicators, make-up brushes, packaging, and measuring products among its core business categories.

In 2012, Qosmedix launched a global B2B e-commerce site. At the time, the company explained the advantages of the platform: “The improved interface gives customers the option to view their online order and invoice history, save multiple address and credit card details, reorder with one click from previous purchases, and estimate shipping charges.”
