This year the event is being co-staged with seven other events, which include EastPack, Plastec East, Pharmapack, Design & Manufacturing and ATX Automation Technology.
The event is being marketed on the basis that one badge allows visitors access to all eight exhibitions, many of which have cross-over with various aspects of processing and manufacturing.
Conference program
The conference will cover marketing trends as well as technical and scientific presentations, and currently the organisers are calling for papers to be submitted by interested parties.
This year will also see a HBA Global pavilion dedicated to cutting edge technologies, which will be within the EastPack event.
The pavilion will highlightthe newest technologies, equipment, products, and services including: packaging, raw materials & ingredients, contract manufacturing, private label, and naturals products from leading suppliers.
Getting HBA back on track?
Although the event has undergone a series of changes in recent years, the showfloor has continued to shrink in size as exhibitors have decided to invest their show budgets in other industry events.
However, this year organizer UBM Canon wants to highlight its comprehensive conference program over the course of three days as well as its product showcases and demonstrations as a means of getting visitor numbers back up and exhibitors back on the floor.
UBM Canon took over the organization of the event last year and is charged with helping to find the same kind of attendance and popularity that once made it the biggest industry event in the USA.
