Cosmprof Vegas event opens its doors this weekend

The Cosmoprof Las Vegas event opens its doors this Sunday, July 12th for three days of exhibitor activities, conferences, networking and special events.

In recent years the organizers have expanded the scope of the show, positioning it as the biggest event for the beauty industry in North America, and one that touches on all categories and areas of the supply chain.

This year the show floor will host almost 1,000 exhibitors and is expected to attract 27,000 industry professionals, all of whom want to find out about the latest industry developments.

A global portfolio of beauty industry events

This is the 13th edition of the Las Vegas event, and adds to the original Cosmoprof Bologna event, which is entering its 48th year, and the Cosmoprof Asia Hong Kong event, which is now in its 20th year.

This year’s event in Vegas features three core sections on the show floor: Cosmetics & Personal Care; Packaging, Contract Manufacturing & Private Label; and Professional Beauty.

In addition to that, there are also a number of special areas on the show floor that include the Boutique – intended as a sampling bar for new products; The International Business Forum & Exhibition – focusing on the beauty supply chain; and Country Pavilions that include Australia, Brazil, Ecuador, Italy, France and South Korea.

On top of that there will also be the Discover Beauty and Scent areas, which spotlight new innovations from smaller companies, together with the Emerging Beauty area highlighting start-ups and first time exhibitors, as well as an Interactive Area, highlighting sensory concepts and Tones of Beauty, a new area dedicated to the multicultural market.

The Cosmetics Design Team

The Cosmetics Design team will also be at the event, with the editorial team pacing the aisles to bring you, the readers, all the latest innovations, product launches, trends and business highlights.

We are also involved in the comprehensive conference program, with a segment devoted to the development of cult beauty brands.

The presentation aims to give attendees the essential story behind the development and durability of such brands, thanks to a panel of experts with first hand experience.

Achieving Cult Status: Keys to Success

The two-hour session will be moderated by myself, Simon Pitman, senior editor for the Cosmetics Design brands, with guest speakers and roundtable participants: Liliana George, vice president, corporate R&D innovation at Estée Lauder Companies and Amy Levin, founder of collegefashionista.com, together with Paul Ireland, senior vice president and general manager at Takasago International.

The session will begin with each of the speakers giving presentations about their very different areas of the business and sharing their ideas about the philosophy, psychology and imagery that combines to create a brand with cult status.

The presentation will take place at the 2nd Floor of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Reef B, between 3pm and 5pm on Monday July 13th. Tickets are priced at $65, while PBA members pay $50, and may be purchased by clicking here.
