Germany-based United Brands marketing, a manufacturer of makeup pens and pencils, is looking to expand its presence in the US market with the appointment of Achim Ruehlemann as CEO of United Brands America, and the company’s newly formed sales office in the US.
Ruehlemann has joined the company this month, and has 20 years of experience in the cosmetics industry, having worked with major private label cosmetics manufacturers, including Intercos and Faber-Castell Cosmetics.
Targeting further expansion in the North American market
In his new position, Ruehlemann will focus on expanding the company’s footprint in the North American market, by highlighting its expertise in core categories such as liquid eyeliner, lip pens and brow markers.
The appointment and the establishment of the US sales office are in fact the company’s first moves towards muscling in on the huge North American market and stretching the company’s geographic reach beyond its mainstay European business.
The company’s new sales office is in the New York area, the hub for the North American industry, and the aim is to support this by establishing a manufacturing facility in the same area within the next two years.
