The Estée Lauder Companies has announced  the promotion of three top level executives as part of an ongoing restructuring of its management team.

The three promotions were effective from January 1st 2016 and include Stephane de la Faverie, who has been promoted to global brand president for the Origins and Darphin brands, Beth DiNardo, promoted to global brand president for Smashbox and Daniel Rachmanis, promoted to president for the Latin America region.

“Stephane, Beth and Daniel have been integral in advancing the Company’s strategic initiatives across fast-growing markets, demographics and categories,” said Fabrizio Freda, company CEO in a press statement announcing the promotions.

“Their well-deserved promotions reflect their diverse talents and strong abilities to continue leading their areas of business into the future.”

New leadership for Origins and Darphin brands

In the new position heading up the Origins and Darphin brands, de la Faverie will continue to report to Jane Hertzmark Hudis, who is group president for the company.

Previously he has held the role of senior vice president and general manager of the Origins and Darphin brands, a role he assumed in April 2014.

In that position he has helped drive the brands, overseeing the launch of new brand franchises that have included Origins Original Skin and Darphin 8-Flower Nectar Oil Cream, which were both well received on the market.

Likewise in the role he has also expanded the Origins brand in China, as well as enhancing distribution of the Darphin brand throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Smashbox has new executive at the helm

DiNardo has been senior vice president and global general manager of the Smashbox brand since the acquisition in 2010.

In that role she has helped to drive global distribution and growth of the brand, which is now present in over 40 markets worldwide by helping to focus the brand’s hero products and its color cosmetics lines.

DiNardo also re-launched the Smashbox Photo Studios, which the company says resulted in a state-of-the-art renovation and experience that support the brand’s DNA of creativity, community and collaboration.

Facing challenges in Latin America

With Latin America facing significant economic challenges in 2016, particularly in view of the downturn in the largest economy, Brazil, Rachmanis is taking control of the business at an interesting time.

He was appointed as the company’s vice president and general manager of the Latin America business in 2009 and has been credited as helping develop the company’s revenues in the region during that time.

This has included a shift to a retail distribution model, the launch of seven new brands and expansion into more than 30 key second-tier cities across 17 markets, the company said.
