Last year the event was a sell-out, attracting a wide range of beauty professionals eager to get a look in on the pitches made by selected emerging beauty brands chosen to share their story and argue why they were worthy of a cash prize, professional mentorship and the possibility of private equity funding.
This year the competition is taking place on Saturday July 23, and again run in conjunction with the two-day Cosmoprof Las Vegas event, being held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
Return of Mark Cuban
In 2016, the event will again be hosted and judged by Shark Tank star Mark Cuban, who will be giving his trademark straight talk-style advice to the entrants as they pitch their products and business concepts to the audience.
New this year are two separate streams for emerging beauty brands and players to enter, based on the status of the business: either start-up or established.
The competition will run to three finalist companies from both the start-up and established categories, giving each business the chance to pitch in front of a live audience and the panel of judges.
Cash prize and mentorship
In 2015 the five finalists that participated in the Beauty Pitch event were 100% Pure, 18.21 Man Made, Hair Construction, LightStim and Zenagen.
And in the end, the winner of Beauty Pitch 2015 was California-based naturals player 100% Pure, which meant the company founders walked off with $10,000 prize money and a year’s mentorship with Cuban.
The organizer is currently looking for beauty players from both established and start-up businesses to enter the competition, while all the entry requirements and the application form can be found by clicking here.
