CEW announces the ECO Beauty Award finalists

The natural organic cosmetic and personal care category is defined by its eco credentials and that is the determining factor for entries to the CEW ECO Beauty Awards.

This year’s six award finalists have just been announced for the category, which is defined by a rigorous judging process to determine which companies are really backing up their eco-friendly claims with the most substance.

The overall winner of the award will be announced live on twitter on March 24th, at 1pm EST by @CEWWinsider and include the hashtag #CEWFinalists.

And the six finalists are:

  • EO Products
  • Au Naturale Cosmetics
  • Babo Botanicals
  • Clean Reserve
  • Jurlique
  • Teadora

The award was established to acknowledge the brands making the biggest steps in the all-important area of sustainability, acknowledging progress towards reducing waste, promoting recycling and minimalizing the carbon footprint of both the manufacturing process and the final product.

To assess each entry for this category, judges have carefully scrutinized according to The Natural Step program.

The Natural Step program

This process was established by The Natural Step organization, which was established to help companies transition to more sustainable practices.

This follows a four point plan - known as the ABCD Plan - that incorporates: A) Awareness, B) Baseline Assessment, C) Creative Solutions and D) Devise A Plan.

The CEW Eco Beauty Award winner is being sponsored by fragrance player Givaudan, with the winner being formally acknowledged at the CEW Beauty Awards Luncheon, held in New York City on May 13th
