VariBlend and Cosmax USA team up

The manufacturing and packaging partnership will be rolling our product within months and is all part of Cosmax’s plans to dominate the contract manufacturing space in the Americas and beyond.

Cosmax has big intentions. The company opened its first US product facility in January of 2015. The Ohio plant is in a building that was previously a L’Oreal factory.

“We are the leading makeup producer in Korea and China, and we are determined to become the largest contract cosmetics manufacturer in the world by 2017, through advances in the US - the largest cosmetics market - and Latin America, the fastest-growing makeup market,” says Cosmax USA's chief executive, Sok-Min Yu, in a press release about the deal with VariBlend.

“Our strategic partnership with VariBlend is another step in that direction,” he adds.

Complementary talents

VariBlend is known for manufacturing dual dispensing pumps with custom blending technology. And Cosmax has built its reputation as an original design manufacturer, creating and producing product for clients whose products retail at drug stores and department stores.

To get started, the companies will specialize in a popular design. “This is a true partnership initially focused upon our Made-in-America MiniMix 20mm dispenser, which represents an innovative new option for makers of lip glosses, concealers and other on-the-go personal care products based upon fixed or variable delivery ratio of two different formulas,” explains VariBlend's Brands in the release.

New and next

The partnership will allow the companies to create new product delivery alternatives for customers in the beauty and personal care industry. There are already plans to add more product variety in the color cosmetics category where the MiniMix is popular. Concealer and eye shadow formulas are in the works.

And VariBlends is quick to point out that “the MiniMix is also an exciting new packaging alternative for products delivered in various strengths, such as skin care and oral care products, OTC drugs, and those that require ingredient segregation,” the brand says in the press release about its new partnership with Cosmax.
