MakeUp in Paris event opens its doors this week
This Friday will see the MakeUp in Paris event open its doors for the two-day event that has become the go-to for colour cosmetic industry professionals.

Highlighted as the only B2B industry event of its kind in Europe, the event will take place on June 9th and June 10th at the unique Carrousel du Louvre event space, in the heart of Paris.

This year the event will feature some of the leading names supplying the category in Europe, including GEKA, BCM, Fiabila, IL Cosmetics, Lumson Seram, Reboul, Sleever and Taki Cosmetics Europe.

GEKA goes for green glamour

Perhaps one of the prominent stands in the exhibition space will be that of packaging provider Geka, who will be highlighting a number of new packaging concepts that the company refers to as ‘green glamour’.

Highlighting the fashion trend for this season, the company believes that green has now become highly elegant, which is underscored by a number of new additions to the portfolio.

Those include the endlessDefiner mascara brush, to provide lashes with maximum length and volume, while the molded FlexiQueen brush is made from an extra soft material that can be used to provide volume, as well as the new trendy marble look.

BCM, Fiabila and IL Cosmetics

Also prominent at the show will be BCM, which this year is focusing on sensational and sensory cosmetics to highlight its innovations in Light Capsules Serum, Icy Fresh Face Powder, Water-free Essence Foundation and Moisturising Water-in-Gloss make-up solutions.

Fabilia markets itself as the expert touch for nail polish and this year the company will be highlighting a number of innovations that will showcase new colours and textures.

Likewise, IL Cosmetics will be highlighting its latest innovations in the area of contract manufacturing and nail polish, where it lays claim to being the second largest player in this segment of the market.

Green focus

For the first time ever, the MakeUp in Paris event will also have a green focus, aimed at showcasing innovations for products that are sustainable and kinder to the planet while still maintaining that competitive edge.

Highlighting this focus will be an area on the event floor called Carrousel du Louvre, which has been spondored by Chanel Parfums de Beauté and will highlight some of the most innovative and sustainable new packaging concepts and technologies.

And following on from this green theme, the event will also feature a roundtable that will lead a discussion featuring prominent industry experts on the theme: “Sustainable Development, the new challenges”.

The round table will be moderated by Thomas Busuttil, Co-Manager of the consulting firm Utopies, with the support of Charles-Emmanuel Gounod, Beautyworld Connexions.
