MakeUp in NewYork opens next week

The sixth edition of the B-to-B event takes place Wednesday 7 September and Thursday 8 September in New York City and will again be bringing together manufacturers, suppliers, formulators, packagers, makeup artists, innovators, trendsetters, and more.

Just over 100 exhibitors will be on hand at this year’s MakeUp in NewYork event. And, around 30 of those are joining the show for the first time. Beauteam, the event organizers, anticipate more than 2,500 attendees will come to the two-day show.

Beauty in real time

The event will include a nail bar, sponsored by Polychromatic, as well as a beauty bar hosted by ChicStudios. “CHICSTUDIOS is a leading national makeup artistry school, teaching through course instruction, live hands-on lessons and opportunities for graduates via the 'CHICPro Community,'” explains a press release previewing next week’s event. At MakeUp in NewYork, the school will be demonstrating professional makeup techniques.

The beauty bar will also offer event attendees makeup applications, on-trend touchups like smokey eyes, and luxe lips, as well as a complementary brush.

Innovations

The Innovations Tree or IT Products feature of MakeUp in will be in full effect at this New York show. It’s a great chance for attendees to take in a nicely curated collection of some of the most inspiring innovations on exhibit at the event. Some of the companies included in this year’s IT Products display are Unipack Korea, Mascara Plus Cosmetics, Faber-Castell Cosmetics, Albéa, and Italcosmetici.

To see everything the show offers, however, attendees will have to visit the show floor where the 100+ exhibitors will include Global Village Paper, Swan Cosmetics de Mexico, Seacliff Beauty, and Bell Private Label.

New packaging ideas

Show visitors will also have the chance to vote and determine the winners of the Makeup and Packaging competition. The contest is now in its second year and the 2016 entrants have been narrowed down to a small group of finalist.

Eligible universities from around the world, with technical courses in packaging, submit projects and the teams’ work is judged first by a panel of beauty brand, digital, and formulation experts, and then at the event by attendees.
