DuPont packaging innovation awards open for entries

The chemical, material company has put out a call inviting entries in its annual packaging award competition. DuPont’s contest is meant to highlight and inspire packaging in cosmetics, personal care, and every other industry, that’s better for people and the planet.

Entry into the competition is free, and companies need not use DuPont materials in their packaging to enter. The DuPont packaging innovation awards take place on a global scale. And, the winners will receive recognition on that same level in May of next year.

Big picture

Dale Outhous, vice president of ethylene copolymers for DuPont Performance Materials, explains in the media release calling for entrants that, “as the industry’s longest-running, global, independently judged competition, the DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation helps outstanding innovations achieve industry validation and recognition.”

“Our global panel of judges brings their packaging expertise and diverse perspectives to help us honor truly game-changing packaging innovations,” he adds.

Little details

The DuPont awards consider innovation across the supply chain. And judges score entrants on technological advancements (like the “clever use of materials”), responsible packaging, and enhanced user experience, as outline in the awards criteria.

“The DuPont Packaging Awards stand out from many other competitions around the world, because they bring the best of what every competition has to bear as individual segments and use categories, packaging formats into one really well-rounded competition,” believes David Luttenberger, global packaging director of the Mintel Group and the lead judge in this year’s competition. (Luttenberger’s comments were included in DuPont’s media release.)

DuPont is accepting entries until 10 February 2017. Learn more here: packagingawards.dupont.com.
