The award was presented to show marketing director Daniela Ciocan at a recent ceremony held in Washington DC, which included corporate executives from all major US sectors, together with a host of government officials.
“Throughout the years, many companies have benefited from the services and support offered to CPNA exhibiting companies looking to expand distribution internationally,” said Ciocan.
“We are thrilled to be awarded such a distinguished recognition. CPNA is committed to promoting the personal care and beauty products industry around the world.”
Secretary of Commerce presents awards
The government officials included the current U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross, who was appointed to the position by the current administration on February 27th this year, who also presented the awards.
“Cosmoprof North America has demonstrated a sustained commitment to export expansion. The “E” Awards Committee was very impressed with Cosmoprof North America’s extensive beauty matchmaking program to connect U.S. manufacturers and distributors with international buyers,” said Secretary Ross in his congratulatory letter to the company announcing its selection as an award recipient.
“The companies four-year record of growth in international attendees was also particularly notable. Cosmoprof North America’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs.”
The President’s awards honored 32 U.S. companies and organizations, across the country, with each being acknowledged for its contribution to U.S. exports that totalled $2.21tn in 2016, accounting for 12% of U.S. gross domestic product.
U.S. companies are nominated for the “E” Awards through the U.S. Commercial Service, part of the Department’s International Trade Administration.
Cosmoprof adds to its trophies cabinet
Over the years the Cosmoprof North America event has grown into one of the leading cosmetic and personal B2B events on the North American industry calendar, attracting over 1,100 exhibitors, almost 40% of which are from overseas.
On top of this the event also attracts over 33,000 visitors, mainly industry professionals who are looking out for the latest brands and trends, packaging innovations and business networking opportunities.
It is also because of the level of success that means the President’s E-Award adds to a number of other major awards, which last year included bagging three of the top prizes at the 2016 Trade Show Executive (TSE) “Gold 100 Grand Awards”.
