Beauty brands are big business for ecommerce platform solution providers

This week, eBrand Commerce launched a new turnkey ecommerce platform and services offering meant for small and medium brands. And the company’s announcement features its work with beauty clients so heavily, it’s clear eBrand is aiming to get in on the indie beauty boom.

The company’s new eBrand Success solution is designed to be an all-in-one product for brands to get online and selling. Such a solution fits nicely in the indie beauty space, where more and more services (including, accounting, PR, retailer matchmaking, etc.) are catering to the needs of these smaller companies.

And, a quick read through the Indie Beauty Profile here on Cosmetics Design reveals that a brand’s own ecommerce is inevitably a piece of these startups’ sales and distribution strategies. In fact, it is now quite common for a brand to launch first on its own site and only later reach out to other online boutiques or to brick-and-mortar retailers.

Business

“I still see a lot of struggles in companies to manage e-commerce as things move quicker than ever, traffic and price competition get tougher, and it always requires more channels and integrations,” Sebastien Ozanne, CEO of eBrand Commerce, says in the release.

Describing the new eBrand Success, Ozanne adds, “We offer all our experience and leverage our infrastructure to guarantee a smooth execution, then focus as business partners on what matters to grow the business. We are working carefully with brands one-by-one to tailor each customer acquisition strategy. The business model allows the brand to keep control and make the final choices.”

eBrand Success is a customizable menu of ecommerce and supporting services. Brands can opt to have store locator and press gallery features, newsletter management, product warehousing, and a lot more.

Beauty

eBrand Commerce boasts having worked with Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Van Cleef & Arpels, as well as NYX (before that beauty brand was acquired by L’Oréal), and NOTE Cosmetics. And the company points out that some team members have previously worked with the likes of Sephora.com and LouisVuitton.com.

All that, to emphasize the company’s fitness to meet the needs of rising personal care, fragrance, and cosmetics companies. eBrand Commerce puts it this way: “eBrand Success was born out of the desire to provide a unique, end-to-end, integrated solution available for all beauty brands, regardless of size.
