This year’s New York City edition of the MakeUp in show will take place at the Center 415 event space, located at 415 5th Avenue in Manhattan between 37th and 38th Streets. And there will be over 25 exhibitors showing at MakeUp in for the first time this month—World Wide Packaging, Beautystreams, and CTK Cosmetics, to name a few.
Presentations and roundtable talks
MakeUp in will feature nearly 20 sessions, between the welcome address by Lisa Klein of CEW, trend presentations from Mintel and others, and a discussion of K-beauty with Charlotte Cho, co-founder and chief curator of SokoGlam, among others.
The program gets underway at 10am on the 19th with Klein’s welcome address, followed by at 45 minute keynote by Amanda R. Gonzalez, specialist and makeup industry analyst for beauty at the NPD Group, which will cover current industry business trends, consumer behavior, and more.
The 11 o’clock roundtable on science and technology in beauty includes Emma Fric, head of research and future insights at Peclers Paris.
Other notable talks taking place at this year’s MakeUp in New York tradeshow are the 1:30pm discussion on Tuesday called, ‘Indies are Today's Beauty Pioneers’, a ‘Made in the USA’ roundtable that same afternoon at 3:30, and the 4:00pm panel on the 20th where four experts look at ‘The K-Beauty Trend: The growing influence of Korean brands in the US’.
Industry influencers and key suppliers
Between the exhibitors, speakers, and attendees, the MakeUp in New York show this year will host a dynamic array of industry heavyweights.
The MakeUp shows are a world unto their own within the beauty industry, to paraphrase the event site. “Suppliers, brands and trend setters come together in the heart of mythical cities, Paris, New-York, Seoul, Sao Paulo, Los Angeles & Shanghai , to give rise to [ultra-targeted] BtoB [cosmetics industry] events.”
