The deadline for entries is January 17, 2018. And as usual, the applicants will be evaluated by The Fragrance Foundation’s board of directors.
Events celebrating the finalists and winners are already on the calendar. The finalists’ luncheon is to take place on April 6 in New York City (at the event venue known simply as 583 Park Avenue); and four of the award winners will be named and honored at this event.
The formal awards presentation and the bulk of the winners will be celebrated June 12 at Alice Tully Hall.
Recurring categories

There’s a Lifetime Achievement award for a perfumer whose work is renowned and whose industry contribution is remarkable. There’s an award for Fragrance of the Year, one for Indie Fragrance of the Year, for Packaging of the Year, for Media Campaign of the Year, and one for Social Media Campaign of the Year.
There is an award category for 360-Degree Marketing Campaign of the Year, one for Perfume Extraordinaire, one for Breakout Star of the Year, one for Home Collection of the Year, and one for Bath and Body Collection of the Year.
There’s a Consumer Choice category honoring both women’s and men’s fragrances, a Consumer Choice - Fragrance Hall of Fame category, and an award for Editorial Excellence in Fragrance Coverage.
New categories
For 2018, The Fragrance Foundation has introduced two new categories to the awards competition.
A third consumer choice category had been added: Consumer Choice – Fragrance Vlog of the Year. And, according to the foundation’s site, it “honors a creative fragrance vlog with...significant reach by a social media influencer.” The nominees will be “judged on concept and execution as a vlog, fragrance storytelling, resonance of message and reach.”
The other new category for 2018 is Home Holiday / Seasonal Fragrance Product of the Year. Entrants will be judged on fragrance, packaging, and product innovation, according to the foundation. Home items launched in 2017 “whose formulation and packaging are created specifically for a holiday celebrated in the United States or a Seasonal fragrance product,” are eligible for this award.
