The prolific Indie Beauty Media Group is behind the new learning events series. IBMG has been organizing the Indie Beauty Expo in cities around the US since 2015. This year IBE travels to London. And it was just last year that the group launched Beauty Independent, a site content site dedicated to news and resources for beauty brand founders and leaders.
“We are excited to add BeautyX as the next component of our platform for beauty entrepreneurs,” IBMG co-founder Nader Naeymi-Rad, tells the press.
“BeautyX fully capitalizes on our core capabilities within Indie Beauty Expo and Beauty Independent, namely the curation and execution of the highest quality live events, and the conceptualization and production of the best entrepreneurial content on the market today,” Naeymi-Rad explains in a press release announcing the event series.
“And,” he notes, “we are especially proud to have Condé Nast as our partner, so that together we can bring the absolute best resources to beauty entrepreneurs.”
Always be learning
IBMG is hosting two separate events in Los Angeles, California this month. First the BeautyX Summit on Monday and Tuesday, January 22nd and 23rd at the LA Hotel downtown. Then on Wednesday and Thursday, January 24th and 25th, the Indie Beauty Expo takes place at the California Market Center.
The new BeautyX Summit events will be deep dives into beauty business topics that are especially pertinent for startups and indie brands. This month’s BeautyX is all about media and influencers. The May event, which will take place in Dallas, Texas, immediately before IBE opens there, will be dedicated to retail. And in August, the New York City edition of BeautyX will be about capital (funding, investor activity, etc.).
LA in January
This month’s BeautyX will comprise learning courses, expert panels, and networking events where attendees can “meet and interact with experts as well as other brand founders and entrepreneurs,” explains the media release.
Topic will include Introduction to Digital Influencers, Best Practices for a Digital Influencer Campaign, Best Practices for Finding and Working with PR, The Media Landscape Today, Consumer Media Panels on Print and on Digital, a Trade Publication Panel, and much more.
Cosmetics Design editor Deanna Utroske will be speaking as part of the Trade Publication Panel on Tuesday, January 23rd. Other experts on that panel include Rachel Brown, editor in chief of Beauty Independent, and Julie Keller Callaghan, editor in chief of American Spa Mag.
The event is as much about learning as it is about connecting and finding the support and encouragement to preserver. “Entrepreneurship can be a lonely journey,” acknowledges Jillian Wright, co-founder of IBMG, “and we want to change that.”
“Together, Indie Beauty Expo, Beauty Independent and BeautyX now offer beauty entrepreneurs a cutting edge, knowledge-rich, vibrant and supportive community that addresses their market access, news, business learning and networking needs, all year, in-person or remotely, from coast-to-coast,” says Wright.
