Clariant expands manufacturing in North America
The company said it was making a low-digit million US Dollar investment in the manufacturing facility that is expected to raise annual output by somewhere in the region of 15 percent once the expansion is completed in two years time.
The facility was opened in 2002 and has steadily increased production output over the course of time in an effort to meet consumer demands in both the Mexico market, as well as the rest of the Americas and worldwide.
Serving a broad selection of industries
The facility currently manufactures a broad section of products to meet industrial and consumer goods applications, which also include the cosmetic and personal care industry.
Other categories the production facility is currently serving also include crop protection, metalworking, construction and paint for both intermediacies and finished products.
According to Clariant, the site occupies an area of 76,000 square meters, has over 100 employees and manufactures products that touch on almost every area of the company’s global portfolio.
Facility serves high future growth markets
Clariant CEO Harrioff Kottmann explained that the decision to make the investment falls in line with the company’s decision to focus on categories with high growth potential.
“One of these important strategic markets in the Americas is Mexico, particularly due to its growth potential, its export strength and our highly motivated and qualified workforce,” Kottmann said.
Fernando Hernandez, Country Head of Clariant Mexico, added: "We have a strong presence in Mexico, with production plants, laboratories, and sales offices located in Santa Clara (Mexico State), Puebla, and Coatzacoalcos, which provides solutions to multiple industries and we continuously invest in new technologies to better meet the needs of our customers".
