Licensed fragrance and color cosmetics in the works for Badgley Mischka

This week, TPR Holdings announced the signing of a global licensing deal with the designer fashion label. It’s a way for the modern couture brand to expand the Badgley Mischka aesthetic further into the lifestyle space.

The label, founded by Mark Badgley and James Mischka covers a full spectrum of apparel and accessories, from daywear and outerwear to eveningwear, dresses, and a bridal collection. There are Badgley Mischka shoes and accessories as well as a swim collection. The label also boats a robust offering of home collections, comprising furniture, décor, and accessories.

Next up, beauty

TPR now holds the worldwide beauty license for Badgley Mischka and plans to launch a first product—a fragrance—this spring and a color cosmetics line not long after that.

“The beauty category is a natural extension of our design philosophy,” James Mischka, says in a media release about the licensing deal. “Our style embodies the glamorous Hollywood of the Forties. Part of that glamour is in the getting ready process. We are creating a lifestyle and through fragrance and cosmetics we will be able to offer a more intimate way of bringing women the Badgley Mischka experience.”

And the designers are confident they have chosen the right firm for the job. TPR owns and runs prominent beauty and personal care brands like Mally Beauty, Cargo Cosmetics, Oscar Blandi Hair Care, and ybf Beauty.

“Brian Robinson and his team [at TPR] have proven expertise in terms of understanding how to develop and grow a beauty brand globally within the context of a worldwide license,” Mark Badgley tells the press. “This is an exciting opportunity for us to broaden our vision and we are confident that TPR will successfully collaborate with us to grow our fragrance and color franchise to the proper scale.”

As for TPR, president Brian Robinson says he and his colleagues “are looking forward to creating award-winning fragrances and color cosmetics for the Badgley Mischka brand.”
