The appointments came into effect on April 16, with Hyman building on her experience as co-founder and CEO of Rent the Runway and Tejeda using her know how gained in the position of Chief Executive Officer of PagerDuty.
Although neither has direct experience in the cosmetics and personal care area, they have both been major players in businesses that have close associations with the consumer sector, specifically providing services that touch on the area of beauty.
Digital and disruptive retail experience
Both Hyman and Tejeda have very different skillsets and experience, something that Estée Lauder executives will be invaluable to expanding the knowledge base of the board.
“Ms. Hyman brings her very impressive creativity and know-how in the worlds of entrepreneurship, disruptive retail, the millennial consumer and omnichannel. Ms. Tejada has tremendous experience in digital, mobile, software and consumer goods,” said William P. Lauder, executive chairman.
‘These backgrounds and experiences will allow our new directors to provide valuable, practical perspectives to our Board as our company continues to grow by offering innovative products and experiences for our global consumers.”
The new board members’ experience

During Tejeda’s stint as CEO of digital operations management platform PagerDuty the business has seen revenues double, while also growing its customer portfolio to include over 10,000 businesses, worldwide.
