Part of the Lubrizol Corporation, the new name differentiates the Lipotec operations, creating an individual platform for actives, within the broader Lubrizol Skin Essentials platform.
Lipotec was acquired by Lubrizol back in 2012, and has been integrated into the Lubrizol business gradually, initially creating the Lubrizol Skin Essentials division
Skin Essentials starts the trend
Skin Essentials was established as a first step to bring a complete advanced skin care offering to the market for formulators.
This has led to the development and extension of its portfolio of ingredients and formulation concepts that target an enhanced skin health and appearance.
Skin Essentials offers the opportunity to partner with clients in an effort to accelerate the quest to find formulation solutions and innovative concepts by providing strong technical and regulatory support.
The evolution of Lubrizol
Lubrizol bought Active Organics in 2011 as a deliberate move into the botanical extracts and natural ingredients markets.
Then, mid-way through 2012, Lubrizol acquired Lipotec SA, which it described as “a leader in the development, manufacturing and sale of personal care ingredients based on three core technologies: peptide-based active cosmetic ingredients, delivery systems and biotechnology products,” in a press release about the deal.
These two companies are now collectively known as Lipotec USA, Inc.
