The aim of the session
Anyone attending this session will learn about the latest formulation technologies relating to cannabis, hemp and CBD oil, while also finding out more about the all-important regulatory landscape, which does significantly impact the approach to starting a beauty brand in this category.
In the US, the current legal position of cannabis and CBD oil varies hugely from state-to-state, and what you can claim on the side of, for example, a skin care product containing CBD, does have to be approached with some caution.
The session will include a presentation from each of the panelists, outlining their experiences and what they have learnt in this field, with a view to giving the audience a clearer picture of the opportunities that lay out there and how to avoid the pitfalls.
The panel line up
The session will start off with a detailed presentation from Ronie Schmelz counsel at Tucker Ellis LLP. Ronie will go into significant detail about the current regulatory situation in North America with respect to using the ingredient in a range of products and how the situation is evolving.
Denise Herich is the co-founder and managing partner of the Benchmarking Company and will be sharing her significant insight into the category, which she will highlight by using market research her team has conducted to find out more about the perception of this type of product in the public eye.
James Kennedy will be on the panel to bring about his expertise from the brand perspective. James is the founder of Apothecanna, a range of skin care products that have been developed using CBD oil as a base ingredient.
