Arcade Beauty is purchasing nearly all of the operating assets of Edison - New Jersey based Suite K.
Suit K has until now specialized in beauty, fragrance, and personal care contract manufacturing. And that company’s founder and CEO Kathleen Croddick explains the sales this way: “Arcade Beauty is the perfect choice for this transfer of assets.”
“The sale,” she says in a media release, “will permit us to concentrate resources on areas of strategic business focus, while providing a great new home for our people and the exceptional work they do.”
A bigger business
For Arcade Beauty the deal is all about business expansion. The company is taking on Suite K’s 78,000 square-foot production facility in Dayton, New Jersey—and not just the building, the equipment as well. The facility is fitted out for blending and production of vials, mini-products, roller balls, and full-size fragrance, according to the media release.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to expand into this state-of-the-art facility,” Peter Lennox, CEO of Arcade Beauty, tells the press.
Explaining further, Lennox says, “It significantly increases our filling capacity and blending capabilities in the fragrance arena, underscoring our commitment to providing best-in-class sampling technologies for our customers.”
Like Croddick, Lennox also mentions the Suite-K team in his remarks and gives the impression that the transaction won’t change business as usual for the employees or customers of that company (at least not in the short term): “We look forward to welcoming the Dayton plant employees to the Arcade Beauty family,” he says, adding “we expect to begin fulfilling orders as soon as possible.”
A bit of background
Croddick founded Suite-K in 2008 and has since grown the company from a small makeup factory into “an elite beauty and personal care manufacturing firm,” according to the Suite-K site.
Beyond production staff, the company employs researchers, chemists, and marketers and provides services to the beauty industry, ranging from product development to contract manufacturing, customized solutions, and quality assurance.
Arcade Beauty is a private company with headquarters in New York City, and locations across the States, in South America, in Europe, and in Asia. As the company’s ‘about’ page explains, “Arcade Beauty is the strategic combination of Arcade Marketing and Bioplan. We deliver a complete spectrum of sampling solutions through the unique expertise of our subsidiaries: Biopack, Carestia, Dixon Direct, Le Papillon, Mappel, Phoenix Glass, Socoplan and Socopol.”
