The beauty wellness brand has until now been focused on skin care formulated with natural ingredients. But this summer (as is increasingly common among personal care brands) Well Within added two skin care supplements to their product portfolio.

The newly launched Well Within skin supplements are being promoted as “inside out skin wellness” products.

Beauty-from-within is a growing segment and it isn’t limited to any one category. At Cosmoprof North America, many of the exhibiting brands had ingestible as well as topical beauty care products in their portfolio.

The feminine wellness brand QueenV was showing a probiotic supplement; hair brands The Mane Choice and Keranique sell vitamins, and supplement brands like Hum are adding more ingestible skin care products (as Cosmetics Design recently reported).

Beautiful by design

“We strongly believe that wellness and beauty are inextricably linked,” Renee Tavoularis, a certified integrative nutrition health coach and co-founder of Well Within, tells the press.

“In addition to a clean whole food and plant-centric diet,” she says, “consuming the right nutrients through supplementation can help slow down the aging process and further support the health of your skin.”

Supplements fit quite neatly into the product portfolios of wellness lifestyle brands like Well Within. Co-founder Lynne Florio explains further, saying, “Well Within’s wellness philosophy is not one-dimensional nor centered on quick fixes – it’s all encompassing and ever evolving. We created INSIDE OUT SKIN WELLNESS supplements to be one part of a holistic lifestyle program to support healthy aging over the long term.”

Ingestible by nature

The two supplements— Protect +Purify + Firm Antioxidant Blend and Glow + Replenish + Balance Berry Oil Blend —are sold together and meant to be taken daily. Both are formulated to be vegan, non-GMO, and glutten-free.

The Well Within Antioxidant Blend supplement includes “plant-derived polyphenols from Grapeseed extract [that] reduces the impact of free radical damage to the skin; organic botanical blend of Horsetail, Raspberry and Rose Hips [which] helps keep skin firm and smooth, as well as supports overall skin cell renewal; broccoli seed extract [to help] rid pollutants and impurities from the body before they reach skin tissue; [and] trace minerals Selenium, Zinc and Copper [to] assist with collagen production, increasing skin’s elasticity and flexibility,” according to the brand’s media release.

The Berry Oil Blend is made with Wheat Germ Oil, Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil, Blackcurrant Oil, and Concentrated Cranberry Seed Oil. The “oil-based blend of lipid-rich antioxidants, berry oils and phytoceramides [will] help renew, protect and replenish the skin’s barrier for a naturally luminous complexion,” according to Well Within.
