Fine chemicals and ingredient distributor has expanded its reach into the fast-growing Latin American market with the opening of a new sales office in Colombia.

The company expects that the addition to its network will fuel growth in the important Colombian market, as well as serving as a hub to expand its footprint elsewhere in the region.

Univar is a global distribution company with strong distribution networks in Europe, North America and throughout the Asia Pacific region. Although it already has a presence in the Latin American market, this moves aims to tap into further market growth.

Building on growth throughout 2019

The company says that it will continue to add to its sales resources in the Colombian office throughout 2019 as the company continues to expand its footprint throughout the Latin American region during that time.

"Our new Colombian sales center allows Univar to better serve local needs through enhanced product management, account management, program marketing, and communications within each market we serve," said Jorge Buckup, president, Latin America.

"Together this allows us to identify local product and technology trends as well as provide technical support and market insights to create specific programs and solutions for our customers and suppliers."

Tapping into a growing Latin American market

Univar executives expect that the new sales center will bring additional product, market and technical expertise to the region and expands its overall presence in important growth markets.

"Univar's new Colombian presence allows us to better serve our Latin American customers and suppliers through dedicated resources that are regionally focused," said Rodrigo Santiago, commercial greatness director, Latin America.

"Expanding our geographic reach allows us to sell the value of Univar by helping solve some of the most complex issues our customers and suppliers are facing."
