The L’ODAÏTÈS brand story is a story of contemporary women and a story of ancient mythology. Formulating skin care with date nectar (the brand’s hero ingredient) Chemillier and her team have created products she describes as “a feast for the skin.” –fitting really, for a brand named in honor of the Greek god of feasts.
Here, Chemillier shares a profile of herself and the L’ODAÏTÈS brand.
Name: Nabila Chemillier, CEO of L’ODAÏTÈS
Indie Beauty Company: NABILA & SOEURS
Launched: September 2014
Headquarters: Paris, France
Cash flow: My sisters and I own the L’ODAÏTÈS business.
Indie how? To me a beauty brand is independent if it’s managed by the founders and has a true and strong story.
Team work: 6 full-time employees and 1 part-time
Distribution: Through select retailers, pharmacies/apothecaries and our own ecommerce site www.lodaites.com.
Years in beauty: 0, until founding L’ODAÏTÈS
Years at L’ODAÏTÈS: 5 years
Entrepreneurial experience: This is my first company.
The business: L’ODAÏTÈS was born from the desire of my two sisters and I to share our proven skincare regime passed down by generations of women, using powerful yet simple plant ingredients. Our skincare originates from time-tested and pure ingredients and methods. Using the finest essence, L’ODAÏTÈS offers a real joy for the senses and a skincare line clinically proven to be effective.
The wow-factor: DAÏTÈS is the Greek god of feasts and l’ODAÏTÈS cosmetics are a feast for the skin. Our star ingredient date nectar is an innovative and powerful active.
Our extraction technology (cold extraction, bio-fermentation, steam distillation, etc.), which imparts on our active plant based substances a high absorption capacity by the skin and on our formulations a powerful and synergetic action, sets the brand apart. All l’ODAÏTÈS ingredients are ‘clean’; and our skincare carries the sensorial perfume of Neroli.
The customer: Consumers who care about what they put in their body and on their body and want uncomplicated skincare products made from natural and clean ingredients to support their skin’s natural beauty.
Milestone moment: The development of our brand in Italy was an accomplishment I’m very proud of.
Advice for fellow beauty entrepreneurs: Be passioned!
Just one: Asked about her go-to beauty product, Chemillier says, it's my l’ODAÏTÈS replenishing serum Elixir Bonheur.
