This month, the Connecticut–based specialty chemical company signed an agreement with Panacea Life Sciences to distribute hemp-derived CBD isolates and distillates to beauty makers.

Charkit Chemical Company, founded in 1982, supplies specialty chemicals to manufacturers in personal care, nutrition, flavors and fragrances, pharmaceuticals, precious metal recovery, electronics, photography, and more.

The company’s array of personal care ingredients comprises meadowfoam seed oil, oat extracts, trehalose, olive squalene, cocoa butter, mango butter, shea butters, jojoba oil, poppy seed oil, argan oil, kojic acid, etc.

Going forward, the company is also able to supply personal care makers with hemp-derived CBD isolates and distillates. “Huge consumer demand, coupled with the recent passage of the US Farm Bill, means the market for CBD products is exploding,” observes Dan O'Neill, vice president and sales group leader at Charkit. “Our customers in cosmetic and personal care have a need for these products and we are now ready to supply them with high-quality, high-performance ingredients from Panacea,” he says in a media release about the company’s new distribution partnership.

Processes

Panacea Life Sciences makes and sells a small selection of consumer products: face creams formulated with hemp oil as well as supplements, a balm and supplements for dogs, and supplements for horses, according to the company’s own ecommerce site.

The company sources its hemp from organic industrial growers in the US, as the Charkit media release notes. And Panacea has a large processing facility in Golden, Colorado. “The facility features an impressive infrastructure, with advanced laboratories, proprietary extraction methods and GMP-compliant manufacturing processes,” according to the release. “Panacea Pure hemp CBD isolate is guaranteed to be 99.9% pure and the company's CBD distillate is available in full spectrum, broad spectrum and varying concentrations to fit all production needs.”

The resulting ingredients are also described as non-GMO, pesticide-free, herbicide-free, and THC-free. Panacea apparently has refining technology that can remove detectable levels of THC.

Partners

Commenting for the press on the new distribution deal, Nick Cavarra, vice president of sales and marketing at Panacea says, “Charkit's exemplary reputation and focus on working only with the top manufacturers in their respective industries aligns perfectly with Panacea's mission of providing the purest hemp CBD oil in the market. Their customer-centric approach, attention to detail, and the trust they have established in the cosmetics and personal care market made partnering with Charkit an easy decision.”
