Singaporean beauty brand Caring Skin is advancing its expansion to capitalise on the popularity of aesthetic treatments in Asia and the rise of sensitive skin issues among consumers.

Caring Skin is a plant-based brand and facial spa that specialises in facials treatments for people who have sensitive and acne-prone.

After six years in Singapore, the beauty company has just unveiled its second facial spa this year.

Subrina Liew, founder and managing director, said the company planned to continue expanding the brand.

It will be focusing its efforts on strengthening its presence domestically for the next three years.

“With the rising popularity of laser and aesthetic treatments in Asia, we see that the demand for facial treatments to soothe post-laser and sensitive skin is only going to grow in other Asia markets as well.”

Liew added the company was looking to expand into China, Malaysia and Thailand, where there is a rising middle class.

The sensitive skin experts

In addition to the popularity of aesthetic treatments, Liew believes there is a rise of skin sensitivity among consumers due to changing lifestyles and environmental pollution.

“Climate change and environmental pollution has caused more stress on the skin barrier than ever, causing it to be weaker and more sensitive. Our modern lifestyle has become more stressful in recent years, and the ‘you-only-live-once’ mentality has led us to participate in more activities than before, thus causing a lack of sleep which results in lower skin immunity.”

Another reason is a result of skin overtreatment in the aesthetic industry, said Liew.

“Services such as dermaplaning and microdermabrasion; the use of mechanical devices, retinoids and lasers also lead to barrier impairment in the skin.”

Unlike other treatments, Caring Skin espouses practical solutions that are gentle on sensitive skin.

“Caring Skin aspires to be the icon of service and excellence in the beauty and wellness industry. I believe that providing honest, sincere services and serving each and every one of our customers with a true heart is the trick to keep clients coming back.”

Plant-based skin care

The company also produces a range of plant-based skin care under the Caring Skin brand.

“We understand that good skin starts from a sound face routine at home, so to help our customers maintain healthy skin post-treatment sessions, we have curated product formulations that are designed to suit Asian skin types, with Singapore’s tropical weather in mind,” said Liew

Caring Skin skin care products are plant-based and dermatologically and hypoallergenic-tested.

“Consumers are increasingly seeking natural and organic ingredients in the products they use, and using products that have less chemicals and are more environmentally-friendly,” said Liew.

In addition to skin care, Liew revealed that the company was working to develop home care range for people with sensitive skin.

“We are looking to develop an advanced series of plant-based home care products that utilise pharmaceutical-grade ingredients backed by science for significant results, targeted for sensitive and acne-prone skin.”

She added that the brand’s expertise in skin care gave it an edge in developing such products.

“We have successfully helped thousands of customers achieve their ideal skin, so we are very clear and confident in formulating the right solution with high efficacy. We are also open to speaking with other professionals in skin care for potential partnerships to better help our customers.”
