Startup founders and independent brand leaders in the cosmetics and personal care business know what’s been missing in the marketplace and they often keep in close contact with consumers both online and in person, making the beauty entrepreneur’s perspective uniquely valuable. Here Cosmetics Design recaps the favorite products of some 20+ independent brand leaders featured so far this year on the Indie Beauty Profile column.

The Indie Beauty Profile column runs every Friday here on Cosmetics Design and features brand leaders in (mostly) there own words. Here are the go-to products of some 23 beauty startup founders and allies—products that address the skin care, color cosmetics, hair care, and supplement needs of today’s beauty consumers. (Replies here have been edited for length and clarity.)
