Software solutions that are available online (rather than installed on a computer) and by monthly or annual subscription (rather than as a one-time licensing purchase) sem to be the way forward, which is precisely why Alice Chang, founder and CEO of Perfect Corp, developed YouCam for Web as an SaaS (software as a service) technology. Dropbox is a good example of SaaS tech.
“The implementation of virtual try-ons has completely reimagined the way consumers shop for cosmetics and we are so excited to create a self-service platform that will expand YouCam beauty tech solutions to even more brands,” Chang says in a recent media release about the new service. And, she adds, “SaaS is the way of the future and YouCam for Web helps to cater to the growing needs of beauty tech solutions across all budgets.”
DIY AI
YouCam for Web is a self-service subscription, according to the Perfect Corp release. And the new service “is powered by YouCam Makeup’s advanced facial recognition engine to offer brands the opportunity to integrate true-to-life AI and AR makeup technologies into their website shopping journey—the same technology trusted by over 200 brands worldwide.”
But the new service is not simply about virtual beauty product try-on, it’s about business. The software subscription includes access to the company’s tracking dashboard (Perfect Console) where brands can gather and respond to data. With the tool, Perfect Corp expects that “brands can boost consumer confidence, increase user engagements, click-through-rate, and sales conversions for ecommerce, and furthermore decrease returns,” according to the media release about YouCam for Web.
Try it on
YouCam for Web will be display at Cosmoprof North America in Las Vegas, which runs from Sunday 28 July through Tuesday 30 July. The Perfect team will be at booth #37018 to show interested small and mid-sized beauty brand leaders what the company’s new SaaS tech can do.
And brands not attending Cosmoprof NA this year can still try out the new tech before opting to subscribe. Perfect is offering brands a 30-day free trial to get acquainted with the software.
