Are multifunctional grooming products the key to men’s skin care?

Jesse Jimz made its industry debut at Cosmoprof North America last month. And the new premium men’s skin care brand is all about multitasking products that men are already using in their grooming routine, like an aftershave that doubles as a moisturizer, and about reimaged standards, like a rinse-off shave oil.

Brand co-founder Lucy Splichal spoke with Cosmetics Design at Cosmoprof to explain the Jesse Jimz approach to skin care: “The idea behind this was to create a tightly curated collection of simple, multipurpose products but that are utilizing very high-quality active ingredients that give men that superior result,” says Splichal.

She also shared insight into why men’s skin care was the right category for a new brand, saying “there’s a whitespace in the market….There’s so much for men’s hair; there’s a lot with men’s shaving and beard and not a lot with skin care, particularly high-performance skin care products.”

Splichal also talks through some of the brands key ingredients, key product functions/benefits, and what the early response to the new Jesse Jimz skin care for men brand has been like.
