IFF moves into CBD
In mid-October Neptune Wellness Solutions announced a partnership with IFF that will “combing the resources of our two organizations to develop plant-based consumer products, including hemp-derived CBD products,” Michael Cammarata, CEO at Neptune, tells the press.

Givaudan announces biotech breakthrough
Yesterday, Givaudan circulated a media release about the company’s new biotech capabilities to produce Ambrofix (Ambroxide). “This new biocatalytic process produces Ambrofix is a powerful, sustainable and stable ambery note while aligning to Givaudan’s sustainability approach,” Jeremy Compton, global head of fragrance science and technology at Givaudan, commented.
Natural fragrance supplier Palette Naturals launches new accords at Suppliers’ Day
At the start of October, the California Society of Cosmetic Chemists held their Suppliers’ Day trade show in Long Beach. Palette Naturals, the scent supply company dedicated to natural inputs and fragrance ingredient transparency, launched several new accords at the show, including a botanical musk.
Good Housekeeping Sustainable Packaging Awards honor Henry Rose Fine Fragrances
The inaugural Good Housekeeping Sustainability Awards were announced at this year’s Raise the Green Bar event in New York City this month. Among the brands recognized for their sustainable beauty packaging designs was Henry Rose Fine Fragrance, the brand Michelle Pfeiffer and Melina Polly founded earlier this year.

Firmenich sees opportunity in China’s growing fine fragrance market
Fine fragrance in China is growing, says Oliver Viejo, senior commercial director of fine fragrance in China for Firmenich, noting that “we also need to support our local clients to further develop the market and tackle new opportunities like in lower-tier cities where the consumption and interest for Fine Fragrance is growing.”

IFRA reports on the value that the fragrance industry adds to the Singapore economy
“According to the report conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on behalf of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA), the fragrance industry generates €7.2bn ($7.9bn) of total Value Added globally” and $324m in Singapore alone, reports Cosmetics Design Asia editor Amanda Lim.
In 2020 L’Oréal will own the Mugler and Arrazo fragrance brands
Pending standard regulatory approvals, the newly announced deal to acquires Mugler and Arrazo from Clarins Group will be finalized in Q1 of 2020. “By joining L’Oréal, Mugler and Azzaro brands will pursue their international development while benefitting from the resources of the world’s beauty leader in marketing, distribution, and innovation,” according to a press release from the multinational beauty maker.
