The social-selling beauty company took its popular paper brochure digital in 2018, introduced a mobile-first training solution for Avon representatives in May, and is now working with Fuse to create a digital education and communications platform for the company’s in-house associates.

This second partnership between Avon and Fuse Universal is focused on building a training and engagement solution for the beauty makers corporate associates. The companies worked together on the training solution for Avon representatives that came out earlier this year.

“In today's world of ready access to technology, our new relationship with Fuse will enable us to deliver training tools to our global network of representatives in a form that enables them to learn on their own terms as they grow and thrive with Avon,” said Miguel Fernandez, president of global sales at Avon, when the mobile-first representative training solution was announced in February. “We are opening up Avon to better serve our customers and support our representatives. When she succeeds, we succeed."

That platform promises to deliver on-demand, interactive learning opportunities as well as being a place where Avon employees can connect and share with one another.

“This [new platform for associates] will supersede all of their other training and communication platforms across the globe, and represent the one-stop-shop for associates to connect, learn and share,” according to a news item Avon posted online Tuesday.

Opening Up corporate training

Avon’s current business strategy has the tag line ‘Open Up’. As CEO Jan Zijderveld explains it the strategy is about earnings, products, and women’s empowerment. And the company website lists five pillars of the Open Up strategy: “Rebooting Direct Selling, Modernising the Brand, Unlocking Digital and e-Commerce Capabilities, and Drive a Performance Culture.”

This new communications and learning platform in the works with Fuse Universal is a part of the Open Up strategy. It’s meant to open up the Avon infrastructure.

“Our associates are critical to the success of our business and our transformation journey. Our new platform will help them quickly develop personally and professionally and simplify ways of working across the company,” says Becky Wender, executive director of leadership development and organisational effectiveness at Avon, in this week’s media release. “We’re really excited about seeing the benefits that it brings and enabling associates to work, and learn, more closely together.”
