A live online masterclass aims to outline the first steps to develop a global beauty brand that consumers will love and keep them coming back for more.

Part of a new series called Beauty Entrepreneur Live Masterclass, the first class in the series is called ‘How To Create Your Own Global Brand, and will be broadcast 11am PST to 2pm PST, tomorrow, November 21st.

The class will be hosted by Ameann DeJohn, a beauty consultant who has helped over 50 beauty brands to launch new products and lines, together with Dulma Altan, the founder of Makelane, a company focused on empowering women to share the right knowledge needed to launch successful beauty brands.

Why attend this class?

Cosmetics Design spoke exclusively to Ameann DeJohn to find out more about why this class was put together and about what those attending the event can expect to get out of it.

"Over my 10 years in developing beauty brands clients have asked me where can I go to know what you know? How can I take a class? And I always replied their isn’t a class or school that you could take to learn how to make a complete brand," said DeJohn.

"There are classes on formulation and chemistry, branding, packaging and design but how do you put it all together to launch a brand is not offered. When brands work with us we always share all or our knowledge, connections etc but if you don’t know the right questions the connections are meaningless. I want to share my knowledge so we can educate anyone who wants to start a beauty brand on what it takes from concept to launch."

DeJohn added that the class will touch on every aspect of the process to launch a brand, including formulation, custom packaging, distribution and retail. And earlier this year DeJohn had first hand experience, helping her daughter, Clarisse DeJohn, launch her own brand called Clarisma.

The workshop program

Taking the form of a workshop, the class aims t engage beauty professionals in the process of product development by first defining what the necessary criteria is and then coming up with an appropriate action plan.

The content will start with looking at how to launch with the right product, as well as covering interesting topics like ensuring that the product claims live up the social media hype, building a website on a budget and avoiding the coming pitfalls involved in working with manufacturers.

The premise is that the class will demonstrate how to  start a brand from scratch, all the way through to launching a market-ready beauty product, positioned for success.

What you will learn from the class
