In October, the fragrance maker and the cannabinoid extraction company announced their partnership. And this month, Neptune Wellness Solutions is launching a brand called Forest Remedies with a collection of products developed in collaboration with IFF.

The two companies have teamed up to develop plant-derived consumer products, as CosmeticsDesign.com reported in mid-October 2019. “Now, thanks to a partnership with Neptune Wellness Solutions, IFF is the latest beauty and fragrance industry supplier to make the move into cannabis,” reported this site.

As for Neptune, “the health and wellness products company sees a clear opportunity in the US fragrance and consumer goods sectors in so far as CBD is concerned. And it’s this opportunity that [Neptune CEO Michael] Cammarata and his colleagues are keen to realize with the help of partners like IFF.”

Neptune Wellness Solutions launches two new brands

In a media release issued this month, Neptune announced two new brands—Forest Remedies and Ocean Remedies—and a first purchase order (po) from a US retailer.

“The launch of the Forest Remedies and Ocean Remedies brands,” says Cammarata, “represents a key milestone for Neptune as we position our company for accelerated growth in the global Consumer Packaged Goods industries, with a focus on hemp-derived health and wellness ingredients and products,”

The first po for these new ventures is form a retailer with locations across the US; the Forest Remedies soothing balm will be in some 100 doors in the coming months, according to the most recent Neptune press release (just which retailer the deal is with, the company does not say).

Essential oils from Forest Remedies

IFF fits into the new brand launches with a collection of six essential oil SKUs: lemon, sweet orange, bergamot, peppermint, eucalyptus, and tea tree. “Neptune aims to redefine the essential oil experience and provide consumers high-quality, natural, traceable, sustainable ingredients from responsible producers around the world,” according to the press release.

The other eleven products in the Forest Remedies inaugural product portfolio are made with hemp extracts, six are ingestibles, two are topical balms, one is gel, one is a massage oil, and there’s also a product for pets.

“Forest Remedies hemp extracts will be priced on average at 50% lower than the leading competitive products,” says Cammarata, “providing the end consumer an attractively priced quality product. Neptune believes in making natural products accessible to everyone.”
