This month’s IBE Berlin event may have been canceled and upcoming events in Dallas, Texas, rescheduled, but the indie beauty community is staying connected and engaged, preparing for a time when the Coronavirus is behind us.
“Today, Indie Beauty Media Group will take the first step in rallying beauty entrepreneurs and associated beauty professionals under the banner of #BeautyUnites campaign,” writes Nader Naeymi-Rad, Co-Founder of the Indie Beauty Media Group (IBMG), in an open letter to beauty entrepreneurs posted online and circulated to the press.
“We declare that in these unprecedented times, it is solidarity and community which will aid us,” he says. “We declare that together, we can prevail. As part of #BeautyUnites, we ask everyone to contribute anything they can, from news, insights, knowledge, know-how or connections to the campaign.”
The Beauty Unites Resource Center is online now
The #BeautyUnites pages went live today and includes free access to select content on the IBMG’s own news site Beauty Independent, content from other outlets (including CosmeticsDesign.com), a webinar for buyers who had registered to attend this year’s IBE Berlin event, free 30-day access to the BeautyX Replay library (full video-versions of the presentations and slides from the BeautyX Summit that took place in Los Angeles, California, at the start of 2020), free access to the Uplink Directory, as well as info on the latest State policies, CDC updates, and small business relief opportunities.
The indie beauty movement maintains momentum in challenging times
“For those of us running small businesses, life was hard before COVID-19, now it’s reaching a whole new level of impossible,” writes Naeymi-Rad, speaking both as an entrepreneur and to the entrepreneurial indie beauty community.
“While we acknowledge that this pandemic—and the challenges it presents—is like nothing we have faced before,” he says, “we also know that there is tremendous power in the collective, especially when it’s comprised of innovative thinkers. Alone, we are individual small business owners. Together, we are the largest network of indie beauty brand founders, buyers and industry experts in the world.”
“Alone, we have limited resources. Together, if we pool our resources, we can create new opportunities and new reasons to be hopeful.”
