Beauty Tech Innovation: virtual real-time brow try-on is here
For now, the new Benefit Cosmetics WeChat mini program is only available to consumers in China. But ecommerce innovation that makes trying and buying product online more enjoyable and efficient are in higher demand globally now, thanks to store shutdowns and social distancing. And this sort of tech solution will not likely be limited to one market for long.
Beauty tech solutions are helping bridge the divide between online and in-store shopping
“AR+AI beauty technology can create interactive experiences that add value for beauty brands and personalize shopping process for consumers,” says Alice Chang, Founder and CEO of Perfect Corp., in today’s media release about the new brow program.
“We’re excited,” she says, “to partner with Benefit Cosmetics to launch and expand the innovative and hyper-realistic virtual Brow Try-On solution to the brand’s WeChat mini program, and help Benefit realize its omnichannel strategy to bring the experience to all consumers across all channels.”
Benefit Cosmetics launches a first real-time virtual brow try-on tool with Perfect Corp.
“Given the explosive growth in e-Commerce, this ability to ‘try on’ products online have become crucial in the beauty arena,” explains Toto Haba, Global Senior Vice President of Digital at Benefit
And, he points out, that the new tech solution is an opportunity for consumers to get comfortable and acquainted with Benefit’s in-store brow services in a way that’s more about finding their best look than it is about navigating an unfamiliar sales / service experience: “We are hoping that Benefit’s Brow Try-On experience will give customers the ability to see our products and services on their own faces while removing one of the last barriers to buying or booking an appointment online,” says Haba is today’s media release.
The try-on interface uses Perfect Corp.’s facial-point detection and color-blending technologies to make the AR brow try-on experience quite life like. And, of course, the new WeChat mini program does allow consumers to book an appointment once they’ve chosen the look they want.
