“I am proud to take over from my predecessor who kept the Chapter a vibrant source of engagement and education during this unprecedented and challenging year,” says Susanna Fernandes, incoming Chair of the NYSCC, in her remarks to the press this week.
“What is ahead for us professionally and personally,” she acknowledges, “is still not clear.”
“But with the help of the new board, committee members and committed volunteers,” says Fernandes, “we will continue to keep the NYSCC’s activities essential to our members.”
2021 NYSCC Board of Directors poised to inform and engage the beauty industry
The chapter’s theme in the New Year will be Embracing Beauty. And around that theme Fernandes and the full board will produce a full series of events, including a first blended NYSCC Suppliers’ Day.
For the first time the 2021 edition of the popular ingredient discovery is going to be a mix of in-person and online exhibits and programming. Next year’s Suppliers’ Day is scheduled for May 4 and 5 at the Javits Center in New York City. And according to the NYSCC’s recent press release, “in addition to a safe in person trade show and conference, Suppliers’ Day will also have digital and virtual offerings to reach, inform, and engage the largest audience possible.”
The full 2021 NYSCC Board of Directors was installed in November
This month, at the close of an online event about Clean Beauty, in-coming executive board members were formally installed.
Serving on the board alongside Susanna Fernandes, will be 2020 board Chair and 2021 Advisor Giorgino (known as Gino) Macalino, Manager of Makeup Innovation at The Estée Lauder Companies; Mohamed Abdulla, Account Manager with HPC-East Coast, Oxiteno, will serve as Treasurer; Leor Fay Tal, Technical Marketing Leader at Gattefossé USA is the new Secretary; and Giorgio Dell’Acqua, Founder of Dellacqua Consulting, is Chair-Elect.
