This week, the P&G brand announced a limited-edition collection of scented deodorants and body washes inspired by the lifestyle and design expert’s passion for plants, good vibes, and fresh air.

P&G acquired the clean personal care brand from Founder Moiz Ali in 2017 for $100m. And today the brand’s product portfolio comprises deodorant, bar soap, body wash, and tooth paste for both women and men as well as a deodorant formulated expressly for teen consumers (those ages 8 – 18).

Is the Native – Jungalow collab personal care’s answer to pandemic fatigue?

Justina Blakeney launched a design blog in 2009 that has since grown into a lifestyle brand and earned her accolades such as this from Domino Magazine: “She may be one of the most prominent figures in the contemporary design world...” And this from Lonny Magazine: “Founder of The Jungalow, Justina Blakeney is a modern interiors icon.”

Now her Jungalow site sells furniture, décor, bed and bath items, as well as lifestyle products and gifts. And thanks to the P&G collaboration, she’s in the deodorant and body wash business too.

“My brand, Jungalow, celebrates the human/nature connection and aims to help people to bring good vibes home,” she says in this week’s media release announcing the launch of the limited-edition Jungalow Native collection.

“I am thrilled at the opportunity to bring that ethos from home to personal care and wellness with Native – a brand I admire for their commitment to effective, clean, and cruelty free personal care products,” says Blankeney.

And she talks about how the partnership was an opportunity to put her design sensibility to use in a new way as well as an opportunity to work with fragrance. “Designing this collection wasn't just about adding pretty patterns to the labels (though that part was also fun!)– working with Native was a fully immersive experience,” she says, adding that, “I loved the process of developing transportative scents that take you on a bit of a trip to somewhere magical, especially in a time where actual traveling is not an option.”

Native launches 4 new seasonal scents in partnership with Jungalow

Together Blakeney and Native developed four new scents for deodorant and body washes for men and women, which are being sold now on both the Jungalow and Native sites. And at the end of the month, the collection will be available at select Target stores.  (The deodorants are available in both conventional packaging and in the brand’s paperboard tube, plastic-free option.)

The scents are Palm Leaf & Bergamot, Tangerine & Citrus Blossom, Paradise Flower & Amber, and Sandalwood & Fig. “Inspired by Justina's travels around the world, the delightful scents of the Native x Jungalow collection will transport you to lush locales and the beautiful designs will move you to appreciate beauty in unexpected places,” says Meng Li, Vice President of Marketing at Native, in her recent remarks to the press.

“Native x Jungalow is our first ever co-branded collaboration for our popular Seasonals collection and we are thrilled to partner with Jungalow on this exciting launch,” she Li.
