Day 1 Preview: NYSCC Suppliers’ Day 2024
“The sold-out exhibit floor in Halls A,B,C, and D at the Javits Center will be filled, end-to-end, with high-performing ingredients, novel formulations, new innovations and efficient solutions from companies from all over the world,” said the NYSCC’s press release profiling this year’s Suppliers’ Day conference.
Scheduled to run May 1st and 2nd, 2024, in New York City, we’ve highlighted some can’t-miss events available for attendees that are essential to add to any schedule on the first day of the conference.
All the following sessions are complimentary and are included in EXPO ONLY admission tickets.
Discover Sustainability
10:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Moderated by Tom Branna, Vice President/Editorial Director at household and personal care product industry publication Happi, this Main Stage educational opportunity is scheduled to feature ten sessions with presentations that will focus on sustainability innovations, bio-upcycling, marine upcycling, reducing the carbon footprint, and more.
For example, the program’s opening session, “Sustainability Innovations in the Cosmetics Industry,” will feature Iveta Kovacova, Research Manager at Ecovia Intelligence, who will discuss “the various ways cosmetic companies are embracing sustainability: from ethical sourcing of raw materials, green formulations, energy management, to sustainable packaging,” as well as “how cosmetic companies can innovate for sustainability,” according to the NYSCC’s Suppliers’ Day website profiling the event.
Rooted in Beauty: Exploring Latina Heritage and Ingredient Innovation in Beauty Brands
2:30 PM – 3:30 PM
This industry panel, scheduled to take place at the Show Floor Innovations Theater, will feature Sandra Velasquez, CEO and founder at Nopalera, Rebekah Jensen, CEO and founder at Sanara, and Daniela Ciocan, CEO at Access Beauty Insiders, for a conversation focused on their unique narratives as Latina beauty founders.
As detailed on the NYSCC Suppliers’ Day event website, “through a captivating panel discussion, these trailblazing entrepreneurs will share how their Latina heritage shapes their brands and fosters authentic connections with consumers.”
Attendees of this session will have the opportunity to “discover the significance of ingredients sourced from Latin America in their formulations, as they highlight the rich cultural heritage embedded in every product,” will “gain valuable insights into the intersection of heritage, entrepreneurship, and ingredient innovation, and uncover the profound impact of Latinx representation in the beauty industry.”
Beauty Innovation in 2024
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
In this Main Stage educational session, speaker Anna Mayo, VP of Beauty Vertical at NIQ, will discuss how “new product innovation is a key driver of the beauty industry, creating excitement for consumers and retailers, and providing about 10% of beauty sales annually,” and will review “the state of innovation across beauty and personal care, sharing the key trends and hottest new products on the market.”
Specifically, this talk will highlight beauty innovation trends, including “Clean & sustainable, Wellness, Trusted Representative, Personalization & Inclusivity, Luxury Inspired, Ease of Application,” confirmed by the NYSCC’s event website.
