2024 Cosmoprof and Cosmopack Awards recap

Finalists for this year's awards included a pre-workout anti-pollution serum, an LED lip mask, a scalp cleansing toner, and a soy-based nail polish remover.

On the first evening of this year’s Cosmoprof North America conference in Las Vegas, show organizers in partnership with global beauty industry insight firm BEAUTYSTREAMS announced the winners of the 2024 Cosmoprof and Cosmopack Awards.

Described as the “American Beauty Competition that celebrates the greatest innovation in the beauty industry,” this year’s awards spanned across six categories in the cosmetics and personal care CPG space: the Cosmoprof Awards highlighted the best picks in color cosmetic, hair, nail, skin care and beauty salon products, and the Cosmopack Awards reward the most innovative solution in the cosmetics industry for formulations and packaging & design.

This year’s jury, composed of Retailers, Brand Executives, Designers, R&D experts, B2B & B2C Press, included the following members:

Cosmopack Awards: Finalists and Winners

And the winner is: Solésence Beauty Science’s Lip Oil SPF 40+ featuring Kleair

As detailed in the brand’s Cosmopack Award submission, this Lip Oil combines sun protection, antioxidant effects, and SPF 40+ in a formula that comes in 12 vibrant shades. The formula is created with Solésence’s Kleair technology, which allows for the mineral-based, non-nano zinc oxide sunscreen to be delivered in a lightweight texture.

Packaging: Design & Materials for make up, nails, skin care, hair, toiletries, personal care, and fragrances

Finalists in the 2024 Cosmopack Awards for Packaging: Design & Materials included the following:

And the winner is: CORADIN S.A.S.’s GREENIS Dispenser

As detailed in the brand’s Cosmopack Award submission, developed by CORADIN, originally for Dermalogica, this dispenser packaging is designed to optimize recyclability and be intuitive for the consumer to use. While dosing droppers are usually composed of glass or multi-materials…the dispenser only has three components and is made from almost all mono-material PP and PCR-PP.

Green & Organic: all product categories that are labeled green and/or organic

Finalists in the 2024 Cosmoprof Awards for Green & Organic products included the following:

  • From France: Le Rouge Français’ Le Rouge Alizarine
  • From the United States: Mersi Cosmetics’ Soy Based Nail Polish Remover
  • From France: WeCurate Inc.’s The Smilist Whitening Night Serum

And the winner is: Le Rouge Français’ Le Rouge Alizarine

As detailed in the brand’s Cosmoprof Award submission, Le Rouge Français creates color cosmetics infused with plant-based pigments, with these pigments allowing the lipstick’s color to adapt to the natural tone and pH levels of the wearer’s lips. The lipstick employs dye pigments from flowers, which for Le Rouge Alizarine’s intense red shade contain alizarin, derived from Rubia tinctorum.

All of the ingredients are of natural origin, with 84.55% obtained via organic farming. The lipstick is COSMOS ORGANIC certified by Écocert Greenlife, according to the COSMOS standard. Its case, meanwhile, is made from a vegetable oil-based material and is refillable.

Hair Products: products and tools for hair care, scalp care, hair color, and hair styling

Finalists in the 2024 Cosmoprof Awards for Hair Products included the following:

  • From South Korea: GOOPPA Co., Ltd.’s Bephor - Braid Rev Scalp Cleansing Toner
  • From South Korea: Life Together Co., Ltd.’s Bal-A-Soon Shampoo
  • From the United States: Rule Cosmeceuticals’ Rule No. 6 Stimulate Hair Growth Anti-Gray Hair Spray
  • From the United States: Small Wonder’s Signature Shampoo

And the winner is: Small Wonder’s Signature Shampoo

As detailed in the brand’s Cosmoprof Award submission, the Signature Shampoo is a powder-to-lather shampoo that’s applied by dispensing a dose of the powder into the hands, lathering with water to activate, and then shampooing the hair. The shampoo’s powder format means it avoids using unnecessary fillers in its formula, alongside being water-less and free of preservatives.

Make Up & Nail Products: makeup/color products and tools for the face, eyes, lips, nail and body

Finalists in the 2024 Cosmoprof Awards for Make Up & Nail Products included the following:

  • From the United States: EpicLight Beauty’s Lip Flip Treatment Balm
  • From the United States: Never Have I Ever’s Never Have I Ever Press-On Nails, Art-Licensed
  • From Italy: B.COLOUR PROFESSIONAL’s SuperStay Black Lash Mascara Extreme Volume
  • From the United States: Talomi’s Vita Eyes, Lips & Cheeks Makeup Stick

And the winner is: Never Have I Ever’s Never Have I Ever Press-On Nails, Art-Licensed

As detailed in the brand’s Cosmoprof Award submission, Never Have I Ever works with nail artists to license their designs, turning their creations into press-on nails that provide the wearer with instant nail art in a reusable, press-on format. The press-on nails are presented in sets of 24 nails, that include glue and two sheets of nail tabs, so the nails can be worn continuously, or for a few days on and off.

The press-on nails are suitable for re-use on at least five separate occasions. Among the designs that the brand offers are pastel bow motifs created by artist Zoe Wodarz; glittery, brocade-like designs by New York streetwear brand DAWANG; and bold, color-infused patterns by artist Machée Kelly.

Finalists in the 2024 Cosmoprof Awards for Skin & Body Care Products included the following:

  • From China: Oren Medical’s LushLips Transformation
  • From the United States: Sayola Beauty Ventures LLC’s Biotoc Medi Nanopen Pro
  • From South Korea: TIME72 EXOMERE’s Exomere – Skin Implant Solution

And the winner is: Oren Medical’s LushLips Transformation

As detailed in the brand’s Cosmoprof Award submission, this LED mask promises to plump the lips with 38 targeted LEDs, leaving the lips looking fuller, more defined, and more youthful with continued use. Shaped to lie flat against the lips, the device combines red light of 630 nm, amber light of 605 nm, deep red light of 660 nm, and near-infrared light of 880 nm.

The device is FDA 510(k) cleared in the US, meaning it can be marketed as safe and effective, and treats signs of aging including vapers or smokers’ lines around the mouth, wrinkles, lip creases, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines.
