Sunscreen-Free Route To Protect Hair Against UV Damage
It is possible to protect the hair from the damage caused by UV without using sunscreens, just ORMAGEL XPU. Recent studies have revealed the existence of a new route of hair damage involving a series of UV-activated photochemical reactions, mediated by Tryptophan. Photoactivated Tryptophan in hair breaks cystine disulfide bonds by direct or indirect electron transfer. ORMAGEL XPU reacts with hair amino acids and prevents the activation of tryptophan, reducing Cystine breakdown by 38% upon treating hair with sunscreen-free shampoo, conditioner and leave-on contaning 0.8 to 2 % of ORMAGEL XPU.
