Nelson Labs expands facility to support development of cosmetic safety
The expansion at its facility will accommodate immediate and future requirements for capacity and new capabilities.

Increased testing space
Situated in Salt Lake City, the building will provide increased laboratory and testing space indicating on-going industry and company growth.
Much of Nelson's recent growth has been fueled by increased investment in new medical technology, changes in industry guidance and increased regulatory expectations, says the company.
The testing done at Nelson Laboratories directly supports the development and production of safe medical devices, tissue, drugs, cosmetics and natural products.
Increasing size
"Nelson Labs is one of the top providers of full, life-cycle microbiology testing services," said Russ Wall, mayor of the City of Taylorsville. "With its national reputation for quality and rigorous testing standards, we're pleased to have Nelson Laboratories based here in Taylorsville."
The 12,000 sq. foot building was renovated and will be used to add additional sterilizers used in validation testing, aging chambers for packaging testing, and additional space for testing products designed for reuse.
Nelson Labs’ original facility was 24,000 sq. ft. and was expanded to 62,000 sq. ft. in 2001. In 2010, the company completed a 50,000 sq. ft. building. With the addition of the newly acquired building, Nelson Labs now has over 122,000 square feet of office and laboratory space.
