NZ brand launches 'one of a kind' anti-aging cream based on scientists' discovery

A New Zealand skin care brand has launched an anti-aging product on the back of Cambridge-based scientists finding a way to repair internal and external damage caused by the sun.

According to the manufacturer MitoQ, the anti-aging cream backed by New Zealand and US investors features an antioxidant 1,000 times more powerful than any other on the market and is the only one capable of penetrating deep enough into the skin to make a significant difference to wrinkles.

Of the clinical trials carried out in New Zealand, fifty patients who applied the cream over a two week period were said to have reported lightening and brightening of skin, as well as the diminishing of fine lines and wrinkles.

"When MitoQ is topically applied to the skin, it passes through to the mitochondria, which are re-energised, giving the skin cells better quality fuel, so that they are rejuvenated and able to lay down better quality collagen - thereby making the skin younger."
